Endoscopy Non - Sedation Stafff RN
This position requires knowledge of professional nursing practice specializing in ambulatory surgery. The Endoscopy Non-Sedation Staff RN is responsible for the delivery of high standards of patient care and safety according to SCSO policies and procedures, the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, local, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and professional best practices. This position requires strong clinical and critical thinking skills and the ability to provide individualized patient care in Endoscopy Department. The Endoscopy Non-Sedation Staff RN assists the department manager in the daily operations of the clinical area and functions as a liaison for patients and physicians. If applicable, this position may also provide standardized nursing care in the various other nursing clinical departments at the Surgery Center if it’s within the scope of the RN’s practice. This may include pre-op, PACU Level 1 and 2, and pain clinic.

Education/ Qualifications:
Education/licensure/certification: Graduate of an accreditedschool of nursing; current unencumbered State of Oregon Registered NurseLicense; Current BLS upon hire and ACLS certification required (or obtainedwithin the first 90 days of employment)
Experience:2 years of ambulatory surgery as RN preferred
Skills and abilities: Self-directed; sound judgement and problem-solvingskills; exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability toorganize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks; ability to meet schedulingdemands and withstand long hours of work when necessary; ability toindependently execute responsibilities; possess emotional stability to meetrole expectations and maintain professionalism during stressful and emergentsituations.
PhysicalRequirements: Highlevel of physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting,lifting, pulling and pushing of carts, equipment, etc.; capable of frequentlifting, transferring, moving patients and carrying up to 25 pounds; able toperform CPR; visual and auditory acuity and mental alertness required to ensurepatient safety.
EnvironmentalConditions: Patient care environment may include exposure to chemicaland hazardous waste, radiation, blood and potentially infectious bodily fluidsand materials.
Attendance:Excellent attendance required. Willing to work additional hours as needed.

· Providespre-op care: Performs/interprets patient assessments; completes all elements ofpatient preparation prior to admission to the OR/procedure room
· Provides intra-procedural care: Implements plan of nursing care;continuously assesses care; implements safety measures to ensure patientsafety and prevent adverse events
· Providespost-op care: Performs/interprets patient assessments; manages/maintainspatient airway/ventilation; manages pain, post-op nausea/vomiting; identifiescomplications/changes in condition and reports to physician; prepares patientfor discharge
· Assists anesthesiologist/surgeon/providers with management ofpatient events, complications and emergencies
· May Provide occasional overnight care (if applicable)
