Overview
The Surgery Center of Southern Oregon has been providing multi-specialtysurgical services for our local communities since 1997. The Sterile ProcessingTechnician plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by ensuring thatall surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned,sterilized, and maintained.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Perform routine inspections of instruments to ensure they are clean, functional, and ready for use.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all sterile supplies and equipment.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during the processing of instruments.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to understand their needs for specific instruments and supplies.
- Adhere to safety standards and infection control procedures at all times.
- Document all sterilization processes in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Knowledge of sterile processing practices and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to anatomy and physiology.
- Strong inventory management skills to track supplies effectively.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks efficiently.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 1 year experience in sterile processing preferred
- Certification strongly preferred (or will obtain certification within the first year of employment)
- Possess the ability to function independently in a fast-paced multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center
- Possess excellent communication skills and a positive, team focused attitude as well as the ability to remain focused on patient safety and excellence in all aspects of job duties
- Functions in a highly dynamic environment while maintaining the ability to remain calm and prioritize appropriately during periods of increased demand.
